Natural U1 - Your Digestive System: How it Works

The digestive system is used for breaking down food into nutrients that our body needs. We get the energy from those nutrients.

- The mouth: the food is crushed and mixed with the saliva.

- The esophagus moves food from your mouth to your stomach.

- In the stomach, food shakes and mixes until it forms a liquid.

- Pancreas and liver produce juice to break down fat.

- In the small intestine, nutrients from that liquid pass into the blood.

- The part of the food that we cannot use go into the large intestine.

- FInally, the waste is expelled from the body through the anus.
